The word came to me for the title of this section, but I had to look it up to make sure it implied the meaning that I wanted to convey. And now I see that it does, on more levels than I could have known….an apprehension.
Oh come now, of course I have to talk in riddles! This is where I conjecture on things spiritual and possibly arcane: mystical. Hated, hated words! But why? The further down into religion, or myth, or psychology, or sociology, or physics, or anthropology, or history, etc., you explore, the more the lines between the disciplines blur. And in that shifting space there is room again for ancient techniques and views and practices, because the main difference between then and now is time.
Does magic work? Yes. Prove it? Okay. What is a spell, usually? It is a ritual. What are rituals designed to do? Focus our ever-wandering attention on one particular thing. When we consciously focus on one thing, we let our unconscious mind know that this one thing is important. The more time we spend focused on this one thing, the stronger the message gets imprinted on the unconscious, the part of our mind that filters out our sensory input of the world. And so your unconscious begins paying attention to the sensory input that lines up with what you have deemed as important. Over time, if you listen to that little internal voice, you’ll begin seeing opportunities that, if taken, will bring more of the one particular thing you wanted into your life. And it will all seem like amazing, random coincidence. (Of course, that is all what happens on the personal level; we haven’t even touched on what the universe is doing to help you reach your wants.)
What magic doesn’t do is fulfill your dreams instantly. And that is why to many people, to most people who live in this world of near-instant technological wonder, magic doesn’t exist. Personally, I see no reason to give up one for the other: they both are fun and get me what I want!

- tarot: I do tarot readings, mostly for myself. For me, the tarot predicts the future we are creating for ourselves out of our personal Issues. When I want to sort through issues and change my future possibilities, I do a reading.
