Hello! I am your host, Eliste Anath. And so we begin!
A selfish prayer for light is my first novel. She’s never really made it to term after two years of writing and re-writing, but that had more to do with my outside circumstances than with the story itself. (We’ll get into all of that later, don’t worry.) But I have a clear direction with her now and several critiquing sessions with my writing group behind me, so I think we are ready for prime time. To be honest, I’d never considered an online format until last week. But I have always wanted to see how people respond to an online work, and I think this novel, with its character journal entries and tight plotting, will be perfect for an online setting.
I also plan to keep a personal journal right here alongside the novel posts. I will be making very good use of categories to keep everything separate for people who don’t like the hodgepodge, and I encourage you to make use of them. I have some out-of-the-ordinary ideas for my personal journal, and we’ll see if they fit into the space of this blog in time.
I plan on posting small bites of the novel every Monday and Thursday. This might change to more if the demand is there; which is my way of saying comment! I’d love to hear from you and involve you in the process as much as I can.
